Don't Fret!

So things have been a little rough for the EPHL in the last few days. Yesterday, they announced that the Copper City Chiefs were folding and the New Hampshire Freeze were suspending operations until the 2009-2010 season. A new team, the Hudson Valley Bears, is joining the league after establishing solid financial ground and league tests I am sure.
Being down to 4 teams isn't the worst thing in the world. Having 4 financially solid teams that will last through the season is better than having 6 teams with 2 dropping out midseason. The EPHL made a wise decision doing this move as much as fans may want to see more teams.
You can bet that Jim Riggs, Tim Kolpien, and the rest of the EPHL brass have learned from this experience and will certainly apply it when new teams are started up in the future. Support these teams because this league could turn into something really special. For Danbury fans, we have wanted hockey back at the level the Trashers were. The Mad Hatters need support if they are going to do that and I have seen the support that Danbury can give. Buy your tickets. Try at least one game and if you don't like it then fine. Click the link in the upper right hand corner of the blog to purchase tickets to the Hatters!!!
