The Rangers got Wade Redden, Aaron Voros, and Patrick Rissmiller. The second 2 guys are 3rd/4th lines (just what this team needs....) while Redden brings the PP QB that the Rangers need, albeit a bit expensive. However, they are still missing the bruising defenseman. Hopefully they solve that problem.
But Sather better have something up his sleeve after missing out on guys like Radim Vrbata and Brian Rolston for offense. Obviously Jagr is still out there along with Sundin, Hossa, Ryder, Huselius, and Naslund. But with only $10 million left in cap space, the possibility of getting a hard hitting Dman and a decent winger for Gomez are slowly becoming less and less.
As for Phoenix, Don Maloney signed Kurt Sauer and Todd Fedoruk. Kurt Sauer has been brought in to take over some of Keith Ballard's minutes and is a big defensive defenseman who will help be a depth Dman. One more spot needs to be filled and hopefully Maloney is looking into that. Fedoruk was a bit of a weird signing until Weller left for Minnesota. He will be replacing Weller and will reinforce the toughness factor that the Coyotes seem to be increasing this offseason. They still have a little ways to go before they get to the cap floor so they can't be done.
For the Rangers, I am pissed. They better do something to help the forward lines. Phoenix didn't do great but I wasn't expecting much more than what they have done. But they need to fill one more D spot.
I will continue updating until I go to bed.
